Overview

Culina AI is a smart recipe assistant designed for my client looking to disrupt the meal-planning space. The app helps users create meals based on the ingredients they already have, using AI to generate personalized, dietary-aware recipes in seconds.

The Problem The client identified a common user pain point: the daily decision fatigue around “what to cook” with whatever ingredients are available. Most existing apps required rigid ingredients or lacked customization for allergies and preferences.

The Solution I designed Culina AI to make recipe discovery feel intuitive and delightful. Users simply input what’s in their pantry, select dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, nut-free), and receive instant, AI-powered recipe suggestions,all in a few simple steps.

My Role

As the lead product designer on the project, I worked closely with the client to translate their vision into a user-first mobile experience. My responsibilities included:

• Designing the full UX/UI—from ingredient input flow to final recipe cards.

• Conducting user research to validate assumptions and prioritize features.

• Delivering a high-fidelity, developer-ready design system and interactive prototype.
